  • Food is great but I think it’s something you can make at home. So try other dishes other than the mama noodles. I don’t like the table and chairs, they are very uncomfortable. Edit: since owner is asking, I’ll type out. The tables’ space between the legs is too narrow. It’s hard to push the chair in and sit comfortably to eat. I think can get wider table legs so when we sit, we can really push the chair in and our legs are not blocked by the table. That should be good. Thanks for listening

  • Came here for an early dinner — it’s our first time here. We tried three of their dishes: the Claypot Tom Yum Mama, Thai-Style Wonton Noodles, and the 3-piece Fried Chicken Wings. You MUST order the fried chicken wings! The batter is so airy and crispy, and the chicken is well-marinated. The chili sauce on the side is really spicy and perfect for dipping. The Tom Yum Claypot was pretty good. Like instant noodles on steroids, with prawns, pork, and an egg. The wonton noodles use yellow alkaline noodles; the sauce is quite plain and relies on the onsen egg yolk to bind the noodles, but I don’t think it adds much flavour. The pork on the side has a distinctly Thai-style herb flavor. Overall, it’s a decent noodle dish, but I’d prefer a sauce with more depth and complexity.

  • Tomyum Mama @ Upper Thomson is a hidden gem for hearty Thai comfort food. We tried a variety of dishes, and each one stood out in its own way. Signature Tomyum Mama Claypot: The star of the meal. The broth was rich, tangy, and fragrant without being overly spicy, with prawns, pork belly, and a soft-boiled egg adding extra depth and creaminess. Perfect comfort food, especially for sharing. Thai Bar Chor Mee: A unique Thai twist on a local favorite. It carried a bold sweet-and-savoury profile that I personally enjoyed a lot, though it may not be for everyone. The springy noodles, minced pork, fried garlic, and runny egg came together beautifully. Thai Wanton Noodles: Similar sweet-and-savoury notes, but lighter and more balanced compared to the Bar Chor Mee. The wantons were plump with juicy filling, wrapped in silky skin, making this a comforting and well-rounded dish. Drinks (Thai Iced Coffee & Thai Iced Milk Green Tea): Fragrant, robust, and not overly sweet — spot on for pairing with the rich flavors of the food. The casual Thai-street vibe, quick service, and generous portions make it an easy place to revisit. Verdict: Tomyum Mama nails its signature tomyum and brings a fun Thai twist to local-style noodles. Highly recommended if you’re open to bolder sweet-and-savoury flavors with a Thai touch.

  • First time having Thai wanton noodle and it was great! Springy noodle, clear soup, pork lard, pork wanton and chicken. Clay pot tomyun was interesting, glass noodle salad amazing and the best crispy and juicy fried chicken wing and drumstick! The taste is not your typical sweet thai style but it is interesting to try out. $30/pax

  • Had dinner at Tomyum Mama and it definitely satisfied my craving for Thai comfort food! The Signature Claypot tom yum mama noodles were rich, flavourful, and full of ingredients — prawns, pork slices, and egg all bubbling nicely in a claypot. The soup had a good balance of spice and tang without being overwhelming. The fried chicken wings were also a highlight — crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and paired perfectly with their spicy dipping sauce. The restaurant was quite packed when I visited, but service was still reasonably quick and friendly. The casual, vibrant atmosphere made it a nice spot for a fuss-free meal with friends. Overall, a great spot for affordable, hearty Thai food — just be prepared for a bit of a crowd during dinner hours!

  • Had appointment nearby so decided to give this a try. Food was surprisingly good, though not mindblowing. The claypot maggie was nice with big fresh prawns. Crab fried rice was a little too watery and mushy, though the flavour was good. Fried wanton was a pity as it came cold. Nevertheless flavour was there. Chicken wings were the scene stealer though! It came piping hot and super flavourful. Would definitely reorder this. Overall food was great. We also tried the coconut milkshake which was refreshing and helps to balance out the spice. Will be back again!

  • $5 Authentic Thai wonton mee? It even comes with an onsen egg at no additional cost! Choose between: (A) soup or dry, (B) mama or egg noodles, (C) Thai style or black sauce, (D) boiled or fried wontons And if that’s not enough, you can add on ingredients (honestly it’s quite filling). We also enjoyed the mango salad which was topped with ikan bilis for some umami flavour. I was thankful for my Thai iced milk tea because I was a bit ambitious with the amount of chilli. Total expenditure about $25 which I found decent for two pax for dinner.

  • I have came here multiple times already! I love the food so much! The chicken wings are always so good! The tom yum is delicious and I love how it’s customisable! I love my Tom yum to be spicier and more sour so I’m glad I can choose that option. I work around the area and will always pass by here , and even on days when I am not dining here, uncle Ben whenever he sees me, he will always ask about my day and give me a fist bump. He is so friendly and nice!
